@ana Yeah, I think I will adopt the asking approach from now on. Saves a hella lot of stress!

@h4num4n Some of the actions we performed, like the shuffling along the floor, were CECI's decisions, but the persona we adopted was our own decision. I tried being the snooty yet at times rude waiter.

I can never really understand those who are overly 'creative'/ lie about stuff on their CV, especially in the B'ham art scene as it's so small that you'll be found out soon enough!

Was the role you played at FluxFeast your own creation? I got the impression it was and hence reckon you should take credit for the creation of it. How much input did you have? Were you given specific instructions on how to act at all times or was it more of a brief you were given?
Certainly as one of the diners at Fluxfeast my impression was that the roles that each of you brought to it made a significant impact on the way we got involved with the event. It wouldn't have been the event it was without it.
You should see the stuff people claim on their CVs in the non-art world. There's a significany amount of "creativity" that goes on in some of the CVs you see.

Well, with Insectoid (and a.a.s. for that matter) we always want people we choose to work with to think of themselves as collaborators, and it's up to them when (whether) they take that step and join in. As far as we're concerned you're a member of Insectoid as much as we are.

But as a general question, it's never cut and dried, some people are happy for you to act as a collaborator and some people have just asked you on board to carry out a particular role. Even a term like collaboration can mean different things to different people, so the safest thing is just to talk it over.
