Portfolio and Blog for Antonio Roberts-

Some new work. Inspired by a friend who got a nose bleed on Saturday.

Inkscape getting that little bit easier to use. Would be great if it didn’t slow down a lot!

For this week’s Illustration Friday topic I wanted to highlight that cliques are a group of similar people but that they’re also unique. I also wanted to improve my skills in Inkscape. I’m getting a lot better at using blending modes on layers instead of objects and the Spiro function works really well!As always, check out my portfolio for more.

I thought I’d take a break from getting to grips with Inkscape to try my hand at this weeks IllustrationFriday topic, Island. For this I just wanted to create a simple representation of the word. At the moment I’m not quite getting the same depth as I would with my older work, but that’ll come with time.
Check out some of my older work

Even at Reading Festival there’s still time for art! I was there stewarding over the week and it was quite good! The best act was definitely Rage Against The Machine!

There’s an open submission thingy going on and the theme is ‘In Common’. I want to look at what we have in common with nature.
So, I guess the first question is:
What do we have in common with nature?
Answers on a postcard please.

June 8th, 2008Art, Events, Exhibition, My ArtThanks so very much to all that came to see the first B-VAC exhibition! It really was a great success.
I had a slight problem with hanging stuff up and we ran out of drinks, but for something that is funded entirely by us I think it was executed very well.
As this is my first exhibition ever (aside from the uni Degree Show) I felt really nervous about how well it’d be received, but my fears were put to rest once the event started. There’s a certain sense of satisfaction when you see someone looking at your artwork. Even if they don’t like it, just knowing that they’ve taken the time to form an opinion on it is more than satisfying.
Here’s a copy of the work I exhibited. (click to expand)
Check www.b-vac.com in the coming weeks for more info about the exhibition and future projects. Tags: arts, B-VAC, bvac, first, gallery, launch night -

These are the last two screenshots I’ll show as it’s nearly finished. I don’t wanna ruin the final piece
