Ditching Gallery2

From the beginning of this blog I’ve used Gallery2 to handle the portfolio side of things. I’m now ditching it in favor of NextGen Gallery. Gallery 2 is great and all, but integrating it properly with WordPress is more trouble than it’s worth. Expect some disruption during the transition

Dragon Eggs at the Ikon

There’s something about this current exhibition at the Ikon that made me want to go back to it twice. The way that the light hits all of the balls scattered across the floor reminded me of marbles or Dragon Egg Fractals. Here’s one a I made earlier
Dragon Egg Fractal image

For anyone not familiar with Fractals, they’re usually created with programs like Apophysis (free/open source) or Ultra Fractal (paid) More fractals in the gallery.

The exhibition’s only on until 24th March, so get your running shoes on and see it!

Mingling and Mistletoe

a.a.s did a performance at the Crowd6 event Mingling and Mistletoe on Saturday evening. It involved us dancing around a Christmas tree whilst vaguely chanting the theme from a popular product and then spewing our guts all over the tree. We then crawled back to our cave whilst blood dripped from our guts creating a pool of festive gore for onlookers to gaze at. Wonderful!

Here’s a video of the performance courtesy of Ana Artstalking (who’s review you can read here). Enjoy!
