New-media artist and curator Antonio Roberts leads this introductory workshop entitled ‘How to Gif’. Graphics Interchange Format – or Gifs as they are known – started out as comedy fun internet memes, but have increasingly been used by brands such as Chanel, Coca-Cola and Fashion brand Monki to sell their products or promote their ideas.

Gifs can range from simple animations to highly stylised hand rendered moving images exhibited by large galleries such as Tate Modern and the Guggenheim. Antonio will run through the history of the gif and show you how to create these awesome visual delights for yourself.
