ODI Fridays: Artist Nick Briz on howthey.watch/you

28/05/2021 @ 13:00 - 14:00 BST

Join us on Zoom at lunchtime for our regular ODI Fridays talks. Once you’ve signed up, we’ll send you the link to join.

howthey.watch/you exposes the tracking technology built into our everyday experience of internet browsing. Artist Nick Briz discusses his online work, which explores this technology and asks important questions about its uses beyond fingerprinting and, ultimately, tracking. By exposing the misuses of this technology Briz encourages viewers to take an active role in protecting their online privacy.

This piece was commissioned by ODI Data as Culture for the Rules of Engagement online exhibition and produced as part of the ODI’s R&D programme exploring sustainable ethical practice around data, funded by Innovate UK.
