Homegrown - Artist Development Programme

Home For Waifs and Strays have launched an Artist Development Programme and they are looking for submissions.

Audio Porn, 10th December

On 10th December I’ll be taking part in the HFWAS event Audio Porn

Join us at P Cafe on the 10th December for our last event of the year! Audio Porn is the theme for this night of spoken word and sound based performance. Be warned explicit imagery may be aroused in your minds eye.

£3 entry on the door.

I’ll have a short video and audio installation called Breathless. Plus there’ll be wine!


Coffee Cake Debate: Rags to Glitches - 3rd November

On 3rd November I’ll be leading the discussion at Coffee Cake Debate: Rags to Glitches from Home for Waifs and Strays.

Glitch art is enshrined within digital, internet and popular culture, with its distorted and colourful aesthetics being regularly featured in blogs, festivals, music videos, exhibitions and games.

With it now being more commonplace, what can be done to develop it as a concept and aesthetic, and take it past being merely an image of a broken JPG or compression artifacts/datamoshing? Can it jump off the screen into other art forms? How can one glitch their own practice?
